~My Philosophy~
Health and Wellness are Holistic: The body as a whole; mind, body & spirit should be treated as one.

My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart, For they are life unto those that find them, healing and health to all their flesh"

Proverbs 4:20-23

My health and wellness philosopy is simple.  I have been created in God's image and likeness, therefore, I should look to Him first for all of my needs. According to His Word, He is my Great Physician.

If there is sickness or disease in my body, or mind I first consider the possibility that it is rooted in something spiritual.  I look to the spiritual first, pray and seek God's guidance.

Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight and understanding.

In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn entirely away from evil.  It shall be health to your nerves and sinews and marrow and moisture to your bones.

Proverbs 3:5-8

If I have ruled out out spiritual attacks and lack of repentence, discipline or unforgiveness I then seek to heal naturally by looking first to nutrition.

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food"

~Hippocrates

Pharmaceuticals and surgery may have their place but are last resorts for me.  I have regretted on numerous occasions turning to these methods.  I believe I have suffered more due to their side effects than I would have by patiently suffering and waiting on God.  I realize that suffering is not popular in our current culture but suffering is used throughout the Bible to bring forth God's will which we know is always best.

The Lord has imparted to me that you can suffer a little now or suffer a lot later.  Headaches will eventually pass but the effects of the powerful drugs, (even OTC meds) which are now being shown to have disasterous consequences like causing mental disorders, dementia and alzheimers, can be lifelong.

Rather than medicate my daughter prophylactically to merely relieve the symptoms causing her asthma attacks I chose to search for the underlying cause, remove it and avoid both the attacks and the drugs that are very problematic to her overall health when used long term.

Yes, it was hard work but well worth it.

My child reaps whatever I sow into her.

I did not want to sow a future of illness, additional chronic disease or complications from poor nutritional choices and unnecessarily medicating her.
